Visa short term - for family members of non-German EU citizens (not applicable to family members of German citizens – please see regular checklists depending on travel purpose)
Important
You are
• the spouse, the partner in life or a relative in the direct descending line of a EU citizen or
• a relative in the direct descending line of the spouse or partner in life of a EU citizen and are under 21 years of age or
• a relative in the direct ascending and direct descending line of a EU citizen or of his/her spouse or partner in life, for whom these persons or their spouses or partners in life provide maintenance
and
the relevant EU citizen lives in Germany or you want to accompany him/her to Germany?
Should you meet the above criteria you may apply for a visa through our Service Provider TLS. As a family member of a non-German EU citizen you are allowed to submit your application without prior appointment during the opening hours. However, we recommend you schedule an appointment to avoid extended waiting times.
Required documents
Please read the checklist and fill out the application form thoroughly. We require that the printed and signed checklist is submitted with the application form at your appointment. Please sort them exactly in the following order:
1. Please open the online application form
2. complete it duly and correctly
3. download the completed form as a PDF-file, then
4. print it and
5. date and sign it
children: signed by both parents
Recent passport photograph according to biometric specifications
Passport Original + 1 copy of the data page
- Valid and signed passport (must have been issued within the last 10 years) which must have at least two blank pages and be valid for at least 3 months after the scheduled return
- Passport copy of pages containing personal data
- Non-Mauritian citizens must provide a valid residency/work permit which allows reentering Mauritius upon the end of the journey
- Previous passports (non-Mautian citizens)
- Marriage certificate or other proof of relationship with EU citizen or his/her spouse / partner in life (original and copy)
- Copy of the EU citizen’s passport´s data page and -if he/she is residing in Germany- proof of residence
- Proof of support/maintenance payments (only for family members of European Union citizens and their spouses /partners in life older than 21 years)
- Full unabridged birth certificate (containing father’s and mother’s name) in original and copy
- Guardian’s/parents declaration of consent signed by both guardians/parents in original and copy
- Copy of first page of passport of parents/legal guardian(s)
Special cases for children under the age of 18 :
One parent/legal guardian is deceased:
- copy of death certificate
Sole custody has been granted:
- copy of decree of the competent court
